Jessica was a flight instructor for the Navy and the Marine Corp. She was 22 years old when a catastrophic training accident landed her in a Level-1 trauma center with life-changing injuries, including significant brain trauma.
After 40 surgeries and procedures, spanning 6 months in the ICU and over a year in an inpatient rehabilitation clinic, Jessica was left almost completely immobile and non-verbal. After being discharged from inpatient care, Jessica and her family faced an enormous journey in her long-term care and recovery.
